How do you get involved with InVenture?

It's easy! We are always looking for bright, interesting individuals to help us in the fight to pulverize poverty! Thank you for reaching out and supporting us. At InVenture, we rely on the support of our volunteers & fellows who help us in every aspect of our development process.

In the meantime, there are several ways you can become an InVenture Volunteer in your region:

1. InVenture Fellows Program

The InVenture Foundation offers our fellows the opportunity to spend a minimum of 12 weeks working in the field in an InVenture community with a partner microfinance institution (MFI). This program will offer the candidate unique field experience in the microfinance sector. InVenture fellows are an important component to the InVenture model, and play an important role in providing the necessary business guidance and training to InVenture's entrepreneurs in the field.

Fellows are evaluated and selected based on their skills and backgrounds, flexibility of working in varied cultural environments, commitment to microfinance. We aim to select fellows who will ensure that InVenture's model and organization remain true to our mission of providing the most innovative and customized support to our entrepreneurs. The InVenture Fellowship is an unpaid, volunteer based position designed to increase InVenture's impact and to offer participants a unique insider experience. Stipends, travel grants and school credit are available. Past participants have found the fellowship to be a great first step in a career in microfinance, international development and consulting.

2. Translators Needed

InVenture volunteer translators can volunteer from their own homes for as little as two hours per week! Volunteer translators will support our portfolio manager to translate written documents and help the InVenture team with content and guidance in providing direct support to our entrepreneurs.

Current languages needed:

Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, French, Spanish

3. Raise Awareness!

InVenture is a small company with a big idea, so we need your help in spreading the word and educating others about the power of investments and how they can help alleviate poverty. We need YOUR help to show everyone that InVenture's entrepreneurs can be the agents of their own change and can lift themselves, and their communities, out of poverty. Please follow us on twitter, facebook and sign up for our newsletter. Additionally, if you have a blog or website, we would really love your support by adding our logo or writing a post about us!

4. Throw an InVenture Fundraiser!

For those of you who are party people, we are happy to provide support to help you host your own InVenture meet-up, mixer or fundraiser in your region.

If you are interested in this please email us at volunteers@inventure.org with the subject line FUNDRAISER, and tell us where and when you would like to hold your event, a little about yourself, and we will let all our supporters in your area know about the event!

5. Apply to be an InVenture Regional Coordinator!

We are seeking motivated, self-starters who have a passion for microfinance and are interested in putting in InVenture hours on a long-term basis, to help us coordinate InVenture activities in the U.S.
